Sankt Valentin is a town in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria in Austria.
On May 8, 1945, Major General Stanley Eric Reinhart's 261st Infantry Regiment requested that the 259th Infantry Regiment "take over ST VALENTIN as soon as possible. I have placed two squads in there last night because I feared some trouble with the Russians and French who have been able to get some arms. ... There is also a train load of Czechs in that town. They all have fire in their eyes and there is a possibility of quite a disturbance there.
